Easy on the caps there coach. I understand that people have opinions as I can't imagine many out there more opinionated than myself. However, if you're going to come on a public forum, at least base your opinion on something. If you have no clue, say you have no clue. It's easier to respect an opinion that differs from your own when it has logic behind it.

I was also told by 3rd hand information from a close friend of Floyd earlier this week that Floyd was no longer interested in the job at UL. Being a UL fan I did not want to believe it because my source is a La Tech grad who is not a UL fan but not a hater either. This person played ball at Tech when Floyd was there and they have remained close friend. But now that the process has dragged out and this other information has come out I no longer believe Floyd will be our next coach and my source was right. This disappoints me because he was my first choice.

My sister's husband's cousin's hunting dog's best friend "Z" told me the Cajuns are going with Brad Boyd.

Sorry.. bored and had to stir the pot...

Amazing how 5 years can make you forget your true feelings

When you say "Louisiana" to whom are you referring? Certainly it isn't the Ragin Cajun BB program. I am not disagreeing with your assessment of Tim Floyd, I just don't understand your statement.

I agree, I think UL deserves better! They should avoid Floyd like the plague, and recruit a guy who promises to promote the recruitment of degree seeking students with strong moral values...not any of those slacker one-and-done types.

As long as we're going on the record, I think Tim Floyd is exactly what we need right now.

When Floyd went to UNO they were in awful shape, clearly the least talented team in the lowly american south conference, but all he did was win the championship the first year and then soon had that program ranked in the top 20. It was masterful what he did there in about 5 years. Re his run with the Bulls, there is not a coach alive who could have won in the nba with that team.

I agree that there is a lot of baggage with Floyd and I can understand anyone having issues with that, but to question whether he is truly a great coach is re-writing the history of his career thus far.

It is because of his baggage that he will have to rebuild his career for a few years at a less than stellar program (all the while bringing his new team to heights they have not been before or for many years), before moving on to a stellar program again. without the baggage he would not have been a possibility to go to UL or wherever he ends up landing next.
