Thread: When the game is about the kids again

  1. UL Baseball When the game is about the kids again

"When the game is about the kids again" was a bandwagon quote by Yvette Girouard -one applauded by Skip Bertman- that came on the heels of Smoke Laval forfeiting future games with the University of Louisiana, because in part one of his batters got hit by a pitch.

On April 19th 2005 two LSU pitchers hit six Tulane batters.

Smoke Laval (off by1) stated: "You hit five and walk four, and they're a good club, if it was us, and they hit five and walked four, the same thing would've happened."

COME ON Smoke if it happened to you -tell the truth- you would quit playing them. An attitude which incidentally I believe has made LSU soft. Note to Smoke: you can’t run but you can’t hide; it’s going to catch up with you. Perhaps it already has.

Indirectly I think LSU’s no play because of a hit batter position is the crack that opened the door for Rick Jones to proclaim his ridiculous only at home edict. His only point of reference is as a coach at Tulane so he makes moves he thinks will help his program; I don’t blame him for that. I just think it will backfire, but hey hopefully by getting hit 6 times he can see the hypocrisy in LSU’s stance and it will somehow allow him to see his own error in not playing home and home vs. a top 20 team two and a half hours away. It may not look like it this year but someday Rick Jones fear of the Ragin’ Road will come back to haunt him.

Message to Smoke-n-Jones you can run but we’ll see you in the post season.

ps Why weren’t any pitchers ejected? I guess it wasn’t about the kids after all.

    pps rant over

That is beautiful. I can't wait until this post season. Although, I don't think I could take it if we had a repeat of 2002. I still cringe when I think about it. This years team is different though. I can feel it. We are a much deeper club all the way around. GEAUX CAJUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as "former" Rock Star....
...from my cold, dead hands, Z, FROM MY COLD, DEAD HANDS!! LOL

Turbine is right on the money with his criticism. These teams need to home and home with the Cajuns.
