Went to the US Olympic Training Facility in Chula Vista, CA

Drove out to Chula Vista from my family's house about 2 hrs. away to check out our two representatives. Very neat facility that houses athletes training for softball, soccer, field hockey, archery, bmx riding and rowing among others. Weather was great. The drive was a breeze compared to the torture that is driving in L.A. traffic. The only low point was realizing that I forgot my camera at the house halfway to the facility. I took some pics with the camera on the phone so the quality is nowhere near what I would like but, oh well. We saw Christi shag some flyballs in the outfield but we didn't see Ashley. Position players took about 6-8 cuts apiece from one of the coaches pitching. No pitchers threw while we were there.

My phone camera only affords 4x digital zoom and at the range I took the photos, the photos blown up look fuzzy. If I'm not mistaken, Christi was sporting the #32 jersey. Christi had some good swings, missing a "home run" by 6 inches as the ball bounced on top of the 3-foot high fence. True to her nature, she took some pitches between swings instead of just hacking away. There were surprisingly a fair amount of onlookers while we were there and some came really prepared with their umbrellas and folding chairs.
