Saw a lot of these guys play over the last three/four years.
Cord Cockrell -- Not a flashy guy, but can throw three pitchers for strikes and knows how to move the ball around.
Chaz Hebert (Pitcher) Signed with UL -- Nasty left-hander who can eat up a lot of innings. Missed half the season with an arm injury, but came back strong to hold Teurlings to only one run in 15 innings. Could be a good one if they can keep him from bolting to the pros.
Austin Robichaux (Pitcher) Signed with UL -- Hard-throwing right-hander who is dominant. Pretty much untouchable in high school. Probably needs to add a little mass to his frame, but he's going to be a good one. Good thing about him is that he's an equally good infielder and hitter.
Jace Conrad (Shortstop) Signed with UL -- Gritty player who has baseball in his blood. He does everything, hit, pitch, play defense. He works hard, so I expect him to do well.
Stryker Trahan (Catcher) Signed with Ole Miss -- Elite level catcher with a cannon for an arm and incredible discipline at the plate. Should get drafted pretty high in next year's MLB draft, so Ole Miss may never see him.
Adam Angelle (Outfield) Signed with LSUE -- Was caught between two sports in high school and ultimately decided on baseball. He was scheduled to walk-on at UL for football, but opted to go to LSUE for baseball. Wouldn't be surprised if he's back at UL in two years.
Blake Johnson (Outfield) Signed with LaTech -- Speedy outfielder with a solid bat. Wasn't really offered by a whole lot of schools. In fact, Tech was his only scholarship offer.
Sam Scofield (Utility) Signed with Tulane -- He's a football player and he's going to Tulane for football. Would have been a good one for UL to get to follow in that long list of STM safeties to play at UL.
Kyle Clement (Utility) Signed with Southeastern -- Only saw him a couple of times and he had tremendous power in his bat.
Ryan Bergeron (First Base) -- Another hybrid like Angelle. Played football and baseball, but seems to want to play baseball in college. He may go to juco.
Jake Guidry (Third Base) -- Solid player, but his future is not in baseball. He plans to walk on at UL in the fall for football.
Bryant Leblanc (Outfield) -- Had a breakout season for Teurlings, but flew under the radar his entire career. As far as I know, he has no plans to play baseball in college.
Dylan Frey (Utility) -- Of all the players mentioned, he's the one that I couldn't believe doesn't have a scholarship offer. He's a great kid to have as he can pitch, hit and is one of the best outfielders I've seen in a while. If you remember last season, he was the kid that made the unbelievable catch against Barbe in the state semifinals. Incredible range in centerfield and should end up somewhere.
