It may be a mid-week game, and fans and followers of Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun baseball team may already be looking toward this weekend's big Sun Belt Conference series at New Orleans.

But the Cajuns better not be looking ahead, if they want to continue a six-game win streak and remain among the national leaders in victories and winning percentage.

Mostly, the Cajun squad better not be looking past a mad bunch of Lamar Cardinals.

Lamar (24-12) came to Lafayette exactly three weeks ago and were thoroughly embarrassed in a 23-3 loss.

"You never expect anything like that to happen," Cajun head coach Tony Robichaux said. "I figure they'll be gunning for us a little bit."

The Cards' sights will be squared on UL's impressive numbers when the teams meet tonight at 7 p.m. at Lamar's Vincent-Beck Stadium.
