The University of Louisiana's roller hockey team will begin competition in the NCRHA Division II nationals at the OD's Sports Crossing in Fort Collins, Colo., Thursday.
UL's team finished second in the eight-team Southwest Collegiate Hockey League with a 14-4-2 record, going 2-4 and ending the 56-game winning streak of league champion Texas-Dallas. The NCRHA is comprised of eight leagues around the nation in Division II, which includes schools of 5,000 to 18,000 students.
The local team will compete in a four-team pool play against Emory at 9 a.m. Thursday, Hofstra on Friday and Elon on Friday. The 16 teams will then be seeded in a single-elimination tournament.
