I am afraid the Pepper is riding the Ragin' Cajuns coattails. I saw a poll earlier this year that claimed the pepper was a Sunbelt favorite. I tend to think the voters meant the vote to go to the moniker not the spirtit leader.

I noticed in today's Times-Picayune there was a front page story on Louisiana "hero," James Carville. The story focused on the new remake of the movie "All the King's Men". Carville was a major catalyst in making this movie and getting the location in Louisiana. Kudos to him. But the item that stuck in my craw was where it said he was "an LSU alum who is often referred to as the "Ragin' Cajun"". Could he possibly BE any more assinine??? Whoa! Now, this isn't the first time I've heard about this, but to see it in print on the front page of the NO T-P was a bit much.
