And their hits just keep on coming.

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun baseball team collected more than a dozen hits for the third straight game and continued an improbable streak Friday night during a 12-3 victory over Texas-Pan American's Broncs.

The Cajuns (27-6) got base hits in every inning Friday in their first game at Moore Field in 10 days, matching Wednesday's 11-4 win at UL Monroe. UL has now collected base hits in 17 straight innings heading into today's 2 p.m. middle game of the weekend series with the Broncs.

"It means a lot for us to have a complete lineup," said senior catcher Justin Morgan, who drove in three of the Cajuns' first four runs Friday and finished with four RBI. "We don't have any holes in the lineup right now ... everyone's putting the ball in play."

Seven of the Cajuns' 19 hits went for extra bases on the way to tying the third-highest hit total of the season.

UTPA starter Aaron Guerra (4-2) was touched for 13 of those hits along with eight runs, six of them in a third-inning outburst, and seven of those hits came from the bottom three spots in the lineup.

Morgan had two hits in the seven hole, Jameson Parker had three hits and scored three times batting eighth and Justin Merendino had a pair of extra-base hits from the nine hole.

I enjoyed reading that article on the second page of the Advertiser's sports section this morning because clearly an interview with Les Miles is better front page news.
