The turf is in.
Its funny that all this got done faster that expected after Coach Bustle voiced his displeasure... He should try that more often!
Yes, Bustle was unhappy and voiced his displeasure diplomatically, considering the circumstances. But if I were to venture a guess, as to who got this portion of the project off top dead center, I would say it was the AD, David Walker. He effectively operates out of the limelight. That's his style, and it suits me just fine.Originally Posted by Jason
Amen!!! I concur that David Walker can get the job done, and does so in a humble role of behind the scenes action.
I hope our teams this Athletic year and from here on out are as productive as David Walker!

Since I hadn't posted any PICs in a while, here's some I took today. A bit rainy & overcast, but I was interested in some of the closeup ADs on the building(s).
Great pics... thanks.
Those pics are very nice. The overcast skies give it a surreal feeling.Originally Posted by CajunAmos
Thanks for taking us there.
Those are nice photos that Amos produced. I say produced because he had enought "smarts" to realize the rainy, cloudy conditions would provide a softer background for this large light colored building.
Me?? I would have probably photographed the building on a bright shiny day, and had photos that were "washed out." That's the difference between a photographer and a picture taker.
I was in the area on Friday morning, July 25th, so I stopped to see how they were comming along with the carpet. All of the carpet was layed out on the field -- I walked accross the field and this is a 'big" facility. I didn't get a chance to talk to any of the workers-- they were all very busy with getting the field in order. I noticed that they have hugh garage style doors on the ends and sides. Two on the ends and four on each side. I guess the door are for air flow. The basketball facility and offices will not be ready when the field is complete. I don't know what's left but it looks like it will be ready for basketball seasons. In all, it's a very nice. I suspect, but I don't know for certain, that they will be laying rubber pellets under the carpet now that they have it all laid out. I can see where this will be a very nice recruiting tool when finished.
Looks GREAT!!! Any word yet on when it will be ready for the football team?? Hopefully, the IPF's doors will be open for the first week of practice, or shortly thereafter.
