Do the Saints "have" to change there turf every year? I was under the impression that the turf got better over time as the rubber pellets got packed down from play.
Was that done in the past with the old style turf?

well.. of course no one wants to do that.. although, the deal the saints thought was so good some few years ago has caused them in some sense to "have to" (grins)Originally Posted by RaginCajun08
my guess is that "they" have been dealing with their decisions "per say" to go the cheap route at the very start.. thanks for the question..
OK here is the deal ---Maybe we don't need all the turf and sell little chunks of the turf to LSU fans-2" by 2" for 100 bucks a pop!!!
Correction, only 9(nine) 18 wheelers are needed for the trucking of the TURF from N.O. to Cajun Land!!
plant opps mistake
DaddyCajun!!
Does the number include hauling all of those little rubber fibers??????!!!Originally Posted by DaddyCajun
The turf is from the saints. We would have paid $450,000 for new turf...but we bought it from them for $10,000.00. What a bargain!!!
Just in: Gerald Hebert said several companies had stepped up to offer up their 18 wheelers to geaux to New Orleans to get the Turf!!!! Well he just recieved a call from Ace Transportation and the will donate ALL 9 of the 18 wheelers. The other companies were called back, things were explained and they understood and stated we will be there if you need in anything else, LOUISIANA!!! Gerald said community attitudes are changing for the better!!
The turf was approx $450,000 but we paid $30,000 and that amount is confirmed by Gerald Hebert. It will brought to Lafayette in June by 9 eighteen wheelers, and stored until the turf is needed to be installed. November is the ground breaking goal date and approx 5-7 months to construct!!
The Whole parking area and roads leading(within) into the athletic complex will be repaved!!
This coming Wednesday at 5a.m. @ Northgate Mall Parking lot the NINE -- 18 wheelers will leave Lafayette for New Orleans to pickup the INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY TURF from the Saints!!! Paid $30,000 for a nearly $450,000 TURF!! The police escorted caravan will return to Blackham around 2:30p.m. to 3:30p.m., to food, drinks and MEDIA. Gerald would like those that work does not get in the way to come on out to Blackham Col.!!! Media will be there to put this in the papers and on TV to get the message out, "That this Practice Facility will be built and IS on Schedule for November 2005!!!!
Basketball section to the Indoor Facility is back on!!
What beautiful news. This thing is finally getting turned around. Let's keep it up
There will be plenty of excitement for Cajuns sports in the future.I believe we are finally ready to turn the corner.
Why don't they store the turf in Blackham Coliseum in the main arena or in one of the barns? Also, with the icegators gone i'm sure there is a decent amount of room now in the Cajundome where that large storage area is. Those who enter from the small Congress side enterance will know what area i'm talking about.
One of the Barns has been cleaned out and is where the Nine 18-wheelers will bring the INDOOR PRACTICE FIELD TURF to this coming Wednesday at approx 2:30p.m.!! Media will be on hand both in the a.m. @ Northgate Mall where the Nine 18 wheelers donated by ACE Trucking will leave to p/u the TURF and @ 2:30 p.m. @ Blackham Col. with FOOD and DRINKS provided. Gerald ask whomever to come out for the suport as he wants Fans and will be Fans to KNOW that is INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY IS GOING TO HAPPEN AND IS ON SCHEDULE TO BREAK GROUND IN NOVEMBER 2005!!
DaddyCajun!!
