LOUISIANA La.- Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team defeated its third straight opponent on Thursday and improved its record to 7-7 after defeating Lamar 4-3.

The win gives the Cajuns their first .500 record since 2002.

Susan Linden turned in only her fourth victory of the spring, but it proved to be an important one. Linden easily defeated Kendall Gibbs 6-0, 6-1.

Linden finished her match shortly after Kimmie Lyles garnered her team leading 8th win of the spring as she blanked Marion Brument 6-0, 6-0.

"It was another close match," associate head coach Lisa Jackson said. "Today the bottom of the lineup really stepped up. That's what's been great; everybody is stepping up at different times so they all get a taste of victory."
