I look back at the 2010 season and the great run we had in the 2nd half of the season and I wonder if one or two more losses against teams that probably had nothing to play for, would have cost us an at-large bid? I'm specifically talking about playing UNO near the end of the season. They had NOTHING to play for and we went to New Orleans and swept them to earn a conference co-championship. One or two more losses, especially in SBC play, may have meant no conference co-championship, which would have hurt our chances at an at-large bid. Would you say that those games had a lot riding on them against teams that had nothing to play for AND we won those games?

The sensationalism with the bolded comment you made speaks volumes about how you tend to focus on the negatives, or on losses, and not the positives, or on wins. I'm sure there were several games this season where our opposition was supposed to win, but lost to us.

I am as frustrated about that as you are Rage, but just imagine if that type of game was the norm. What if the team you root for did that so often you didnt even really notice it. Robe is about pitching and playing D. We usually do it well. Today was just one of those things. We need to come out tomorrow and take it out on the baseball.

Outside of the stretch at the end of the season last year we not played consistent baseball since 2007. And it has nothing to do with having a young team because in 08 we should have still been good. Its either a lack of recruiting talent or mentally mind-*&(&ing the talent you do have.

There have been waaaaay too many bad games in the last few weeks for this club to be mentioned for post season play. Reality is we are not a good enough baseball team. When it has gotten to clutch time, we didn't step up. I don't think we will make it to Sunday, therefore we are done. And next year will be no better than this year

We don't have consistent 6 error games, but we don't do the little things to win games. We make at least one baserunning mistake a game. We constantly suck at situational hitting. Porrier swings for the fence with a runner on third and the infield back. Goulas gets thrown out trying to stretch a double when we are down 5+ runs. Potello gets thrown out stealing down 6 runs. Bowman gets put in as a pinch runner and gets picked off. Bourque fields a bunt with no chance at a throw when it would roll foul if he let it go. Every time a ball is hit to Porrier, everyone holds their breath. We constantly put ourself in a hole when a pitcher is throwing first pitch fastball every at-bat. Every one is so hung up on stats. We lead the league in fielding percentage, but we didn't win the league. We are at the top of the nation in ERA, but we didn't crack the top 25. Let's play consistent good baseball. The wins will follow. If they don't, at least you can say the team that beat you was a better team.

_ I'll get crucified by the general public but I have had enough as well. Personally I think that 10 years ago he had aspirations to move on to a bigger school. When Justin got here and hadn't moved on I believe his mentality changed and he became complacent.

He can't call the team "soft" or "mentally weak" EVERY SINGLE YEAR. At some point he has to look at what he does. If we keep getting hammered in the conference tournament, maybe he needs to look at the way he prepares the team. Its not like it is the same kids every year this has been going on for a decade.

I realize that by getting rid of Tony you are taking a risk having the program go downhill. I just think that he has lost his fire and at this point I am ready for a new coach with some intensity to bring some life into the program.

And to answer your question here is my choice. _
