So you would want a coach from a program that is producing the same results, maybe less, to replace a coach that can get to regionals?
And for the record, I'm asking you if you want to replace Tony with a coach who's teams cannot win the SLC tournament and make a regional.
Of course, looking back now they would be nice to have, but they wouldnt have made our season.
Theres a few games we can look at as games that got away. Baseball isnt football with 12 games and each one meaning the world. Doesnt mean I want fire Robe to hire a coach just because his team has beaten us a few times.
Bottom line, we were in the hunt for an at large bid until the last couple weekends. That is not grounds to fire a coach and hire another who has much less of a resume
@CajunRage, this is the type of comment I am talking about. He couldn't address the fact that the SLU coach went 2 and BBQ. He had to point out that SLU beats the Cajuns "like we are Alcorn State" everytime they play us.
Looks like the Robe-haters dodge the original comments also.
First baseman Tyler Benzel and pitcher Gus Schlosser were named to the 2011 Rawlings Gold Glove South Region Team announced May 25.
Benzel, a senior, led the Moccasins with a .387 average and has seven home runs to go with 43 RBI. In the field Benzel had a .990 fielding percentage, committing only 4 errors. In 24 conference games Benzel had a .995 fielding percentage, while hitting .398 and driving in 19.
Before anyone discounts this as D2, know they are at the top of the pile in D2 in a tough conference. They would porbably consistently be a top 100 rpi team in D1. Cudda used hm this year and last.

That's fighting words.
I could give _____ if we beat SLU or LSU for that matter. The problem is when you still have a chance at an at large bid and you are playing a team who is out of the conference tournament and starting a guy with an ERA in the 30's, you should NEVER lose that game. Yes I realize its baseball but that's is inexcusable. Things like this happen more often than not.
I was furious when we lost that game. But I'm not ready to fire the coach because of it or this season as a whole. We've lost games that we should have won, but have won ones that we should've lost. Baseball's not black and white like someone pointed out earlier. Its what you do over the long term that matters.
If 31-24 is a termination-worthy record, no matter how long a coach has been here, then something is wrong. Yes we can have high expectations, but people acting like we've had 3 losing seasons in a row
Looking at the future, this incoming class has huge promise, and I view them similar to Hud's first class. I really think we have a great crop that can come in and win a lot of games.
Is it safe to say that the 2 games SLU just loss in conference tournament were bigger than any games they've played all season? Doesn't look like they were motivated to play in those games? Perhaps their coach didn't light a fire under their asses
