We're you the one that called albino a defect? Do you consider Catahoula deaf dog syndrome a defect?

I was not. However I was clear that I do not care for the white gator.

Are they born deaf? I did not know that was a thing. What percentage are deaf?

At least not a live one.

A Catahoula that is predominantly white, or a white-faced dog with glass eyes, has an 80% chance of being deaf in either one or both ears. Care should be taken when acquiring a Catahoula with these visible traits. Your veterinarian can help you locate a facility that employs the Baer Test to ensure adequate hearing.
    From the first post info.

Catahoula hounds, especially certain colored ones, are deaf. Some also have very poor eyesight. I have been around many of them over the years. To be honest, I would never own one. I have seen too many that have a bad temperament, are hard to train and end up with major health issues. I think it all has to do with the way they were originally bred.

Leave it to our state to make that the state dog. Well its par for the course, the dog that ranks last in every category, is the perfect dog for Louisiana.

    Must be an inbreeding issue...

Kind of like two of the most popular dogs now, the labradoodle or goldendoodle. So much inbreeding, the person who invented the dog in the 1980s, now calls it the Frankenstein of all dogs. He said in an article, he has not been around one in the last 10 years that doesn't have either a physical problem or a mental issue. Go to a local dog park with a few dogs grouped together and the one going crazy is always either the labradoodle or the goldendoodle.
