Thread: What a career

  1. Default What a career

Houston beat the 25th-ranked Ragin' Cajuns, 4-1, on Sunday in the championship game of the NCAA Austin Regional. The loss not only eliminated the Cajuns from the postseason but also ended a storied collegiate career for Bridges, the team's lone senior this season.

You really nailed this one. I will say it again, "Thank you, Gabby for four incredible years."

This was a story I truly enjoyed writing. Gabby is a class act.

When we got Gabby and Ashley from John Curtis in the same year, I knew it would be special. Little did I know how special. Two class acts, two great athletes. What a great addition to the legacy that is Cajun softball. So young ladies, here are her footsteps, get to work filling them. If you don't mind, I'll just watch and enjoy the next steps. I know it will be fun to see. Ain't it great when someone else does all the tough work!!

All I could say to her after the Houston game was to thank her for being a Ragin Cajun. It has been inspirational watching her play. I know whatever life has in store for her, she will be successful at it. Again, "thank you" Gabby for being a Ragin Cajun.

Thanks, Gabby. I went to the game the Cajuns had against the Olympic team. Gabby was a freshman. A friend of mine told Gabby that she would leave as one of the best ever to play at UL and would break the home run totals of Danielle Gomez. I thought to myself way to put pressure on this kid and she has a long ways to go to reach Danielle. Well, he was right and she travelled that long road to reach the level of the greatest to play for the Cajuns. Thanks for everything.
