Louisiana vs. ULM Game 3

Sounds like our coaching staff didn't show up either.

Tough, tough loss.

This morning coach Robe was saying how ULM had nothing to play for and they were doing the right thing by using all their seniors.

He mentioned how we had Cook (a sr) and while he wouldn't play he was still supporting the team.

Their starter only got the start cause of senior day. And he only went 2 innings. We scored 2 runs off of him as well. His outing was pretty much scripted as far as innings go from what I understand

It shouldn't have even been close. The Cajuns must not even have shown up today. ULM was starting a pitcher with a 30.00 ERA today. There's no excuse. It looks like if the Cajuns don't make it to the final day of the SBC tourney, the season's over. With that said, I hope I'm wrong.

Bottom line fellas.

ULM without a doubt is the dregs of NCAA D1 athletic programs. To lose to them in anything is an embarrassment.

You have a potential "at-large" bid on the line.

You cant get geeked up enough to come out with even a tiny bit of fire in your gut???

ps we have some young studs on this team. Strentz will be huge before its over. The new kids coming in will be game breakers, but they will all be freshmen and sophomores. Look for next year to be exceptionally long.

Well the fact of the matter is this...nobody returning from this years team has the ability to hit in the 3 or 4 hole next year. I posted this a few weeks ago....we have a roster full of 7,8,9 hitters. On the mound we loose our Friday, Sunday, and 4th starter as well as our number 1 bullpen arm. So unless another transfer falls into our lap...we are in a bind.

Saw Paul Bako this week and talked for a minute. Need another one like him, or a B.J. Ryan, Anthony Cantrell, or Ricky Haydel. Could go on but you get the point. Somebody needs to get a chip on their shoulder and be ticked off that another team even thinks they could beat us.

These other teams have good players to. sweeps on the road are never a given. it is fairly obvious we have a better team than ulm. Our season is still in front of us and theirs is over. That is all that matters.

Metry, thats a given...therein lies the problem. More talented, fighting for a potential "at large", knowing this win is extremely important with respect to securing the elusive "at large." Not getting it done. ????????

I just don't know what it takes to motivate kids these days. I mean there should be a sence of urgency in that locker room especially after beating the ____ out of them on Friday. I just don't get it. The players are out of school, no studying to do, just relax and play good baseball
