The Cajuns' Adjusted RPI rank has moved to #54 and is within short striking range of being in the 40s. Winning today is very important. A loss could easily drop the Cajuns out of the Top 60, depending on the results of other teams.

Also important is the Cajuns playing friendly RPI games in the tournament. Having Troy or FIU in their pool (one will happen) along with playing the other in the finals would be quite beneficial.

The Cajuns are a very important 8-7 vs. the Base RPI Top 50. If the Cajuns can hold above .500 here, this will be a big help to the resume. SLU is currently just outside the Top 50 at #51. The Cajuns need them to stay outside this Top 50. FAU seems to have solidified itself in the Top 50 at #40. We want FAU in the Top 50 Base RPI. But we do not want them too much higher than UL in the Adjusted RPI. An FIU win over FAU today would be preferable.

The Cajuns also need LSU to win in their last game today vs. Mississippi State, else LSU will likely fall out of the Base RPI Top 25 and cost the Cajuns .0006 in RPI bonus. Without that bonus, the Cajuns would be #56 in the RPI rankings, instead of #54. The Cajuns need everything they can get.

Also, Cajun fans want to see Vanderbilt defeat Georgia today, which would drop Georgia to 28-28 entering the SEC Conference Tournament. Georgia finishing .500 or below frees a spot for a bubble team.
