AUSTIN, Texas — Meet Christi Orgeron, whose rise to stardom proves the inexact science of recruiting.

Just five years ago, Orgeron was a raw, largely overlooked softball recruit at Mt. Carmel Academy in New Orleans. Only UL and Louisiana Tech had expressed interest in the rising senior before she signed with the Ragin' Cajuns.
