Perhaps thicker skins are needed all around.

Maybe we should tell WW we will only call him Douchebag or Spineless!!!
WW is an embarassment for a commissioner.
GEAUX UL!
The real issue is getting out of the same conference with ULM.
If we were in lets say CUSA, not only would the CUSA commish grant our wishes, he would be just as in favor of it as we are.
Being named Louisiana is not only a benefit to the Cajuns, its also a benefit to the conference.
Of course WW is too stupid to realize that.
I think everyone should man up and have a duel of sorts. Let's take the head to head results from every sport between the two schools starting next year.
Winner gets their way with the name. If we can't beat them on the field consistently enough to claim that title then the league is more than welcome to UL-L & Lafayette us to death and I'll keep my mouth shut.
Good read Jay.
It's weird how ineptness can get layered and ingrained.
I have little doubt that the same person (with the hard headed stance as using the wrong name) was behind the bracket buster snaffu.
Thanks for tieing the two toghether in the blog.
Geaux Cajuns
The time for that is over. They(ULM) haven't had a major sports team in an NCAA tournament since forever.
Its a second rate, low rent operation....just like the Sunbelt office and its fearless leader.
Fortunately we have some quality schools in this conference, cause the head guy is totally lost.

I wonder who could have eliminated that irritating "L".

Waters was an Associate AD (I believe that was his title) at UL under Terry Don Phillips for a few years back in the 80's. He then went over to Tulane in the same (or similar) capacity. I personally feel he has done a decent job as Commissioner, and he keeps getting hammered by both sides in this name issue. Quite frankly, I don't know that he has any agenda against us, just a perhaps more defensible position to hold us at Louisiana-Lafayette. The "UL-L's" and "Lafayette's" are inexcusable. Period! I will be glad when we reach the point where we are respected enough that the name thing is no longer an issue. But I'm afraid the only way to do that is to beat the brains out of the other in-state schools whenever and wherever we can. Shouldn't be too hard with so much of the opposition being brain-dead a**holes!!!
