I know we'll be better. Need to win first. Can understand the early ranking....don't like it but we have a new coach and staff. No chance that is where we will finish.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. They're writing about pre-season college football, and they had to put us somewhere. I think we'll surprise a few people out there this year.

First of all as we all know these rankings aren't worth the ink they are printed on. But I have to say that given the limited amount of info we have the ranking is pretty accurate. We know that Coach Hud is the best cheerleader in the nation and we've seen him put together a solid recruiting class. But we haven't seen him coach yet and we haven't seen if he has the ability to bring our 3-9 team to something better. We all think he can but there is still a lot of work to do. While I feel we'll do better this year I'm not expecting a miracle. 111 is a little low but it's probably in the ballpark.

Wonder what Memphis thinks? And they actually spend some real money. Pour moi, hoping for the best but ready for whatever. Looking a bit longer term, I guess.

That seems fair. It's gonna take some time, but Hud should get it working.

"Dead on balls accurate, it's an industry term..."

...as far as the team Hudspeth inherited.

The OL makeover began when Hudspeth focused on nutrition, endurance, and athleticism for the OL, and Mitch Rodrigue will be the unsung hero that turned the ugly ducklings into swans, or maybe a better anology would be golf carts into TANKS!

MissingMandy, I bet Kyle has learned something incremental and useful since Coach Rodrigue arrived, details that have made him a better player. My point is not that he did not stack up with the rest of the OL, but that they all have learned more of "the little things" that are required to win the fight in the trenches...

Time will tell, but IMO the number of goals achieved with UL's OL revival will be directly proportional to the team's success in the 2011 season...

I agree with this 100%. If you compared the pressure our QB's were under to our opponents, it was not even close. Hope those guys up front are ready to start controling the line of scrimmage.
