Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns spent Monday going over mistakes and trying to put a disappointing weekend behind them.

Today they get the chance to get back on their game when they host UL Monroe's Indians in a 5 p.m. doubleheader at Ragin' Cajun Softball Park.

No. 2 Arizona blew into town and set the Cajuns back on their heels, posting a 2-0 shutout last Friday night and taking advantage of six UL errors in a 10-3 Sunday victory to drop coach Stefni Lotief's team to 22-7 on the season.

Senior All-American Brooke Mitchell had tough two games. She struck out 20 and allowed just three earned runs in 13 innings, and all she had to show for it was a pair of losses.

Mitchell now has 1,186 career strikeouts, moving within 14 of 12th place on the NCAA's all-time list, and needs 40 to surge into the Top 10.

Danyele Gomez provided one of the few highlights against the Wildcats with her three-run home run on Sunday, the 40th of her UL career as she joined Alana Addison (57) and Stephanie DeFeo (43) over that plateau.

But the Cajuns are hitting just .146 over their last six games and are mired in the first four-game losing streak of Lotief's reign and the first of that length since the program's inaugural year of 1981.

They'll get no sympathy from future Sun Belt Conference foe ULM today.
