I ran across these two names, Ed Turner & Lazar Hayward...in regards to being potential new players for the Ragin Cajuns. If anyone has anymore information...please post!
Ed Turner, 6'6" 190 F
"I'm going back maybe 4 years. There was a awesome big man in the Buffalo area, signed w/Pitt but never qualified. At this point his eligibility would be almost up.
Any idea who I'm talking about??" (Poster Unknown)
"Ed Turner, grad of Turner-Carroll HS. Transfered out to JC for more pt. This blurb was in the Buffalo News on 3/11/05:
"Former Turner-Carroll forward Ed Turner, a Pittsburgh transfer, has planned to visit Louisiana-Lafayette, which recently won the Sun Belt Tournament title to advance to the NCAAs"" (Poster Unknown)

"Although Turner rarely played at Pitt, he was considered one of the more athletic members of the team. He was a solid ballhandler and could play the shooting guard or small forward positions. He starred at Turner-Carroll High in Buffalo -- the same school that produced former Pitt star Julius Page -- but never got untracked at Pitt.
Page often said Turner, 6-6, 190, had the most athletic ability on the team and believed he would eventually bolster the Panthers program."

Lazar Hayward, 6'5" SG
"Known primarily as an outside shooter, the Buffalo native has improved his all-around game." (ScoutHoops)

"Lazar Hayward , WG, Notre Dame: The Buffalo native will return for another year under Bill Barton. He's been arguably the best scorer in the prep ranks over the past month. His outside shot wasn't falling, but he found other ways to score - and led the team with 21 points."
