Just to let everybody know. I signed the new deal yesterday. I'm on the road recruiting. It should be back in Nelson's hands by like Tue. the University will put out a release sometime soon. I appreciate all the DIE-HARDS SUPPORT. GO CAJUNS.

The change did affect the press release. It was suppose to have been done (contract approved) at the Board meeting in July. Somehow it didn't make it there. I have been told that it will happen on Aug 26th at the next board meeting. Hopefully there will be a release soon. The advertiser was set to do a release on the 6th of Aug. didn't happen. I can honestly say I have never been through a process like this before. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope it finally gets done. Thanks for the support.

Coach, thanks for sticking with UL and not walking away from this mess of an administration and the politics in Louisiana. As much as I love UL I'm not sure I could have been as patient as you. The same goes for all of our other coaches who have stuck with us. Thanks again.

Coach, I thought that August 26th was only going to be a great day because it is my birth date, but I am VERY happy to say that your contract acceptance and announcement will share my birth date. This will be one special birthday for me. Thanks again coach for all your doing!!

There's a bounce in J. Kelley Hall's steps around Earl K. Long Gym these days, and one reason for that is his contract. The head coach of Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball program is operating under a new four-year contract, the first multi-year deal in the history of UL women's athletics. "The University of Louisiana System Board of Trustees approved coach Hall's contract in their meeting on Aug. 26," said David Walker, UL's interim athletic director of a deal negotiated under Nelson Schexnayder. "The thing we were battling here is, other coaches would tell recruits, 'They don't pay him, so he won't be there long' or 'They won too much so he won't be there long,' " said Hall, whose annual salary is in the $82,000 range. "But now we can go into recruits' houses knowing that the University has made a significant commitment. It's always nice to have that security. I've always known where the program was at when I took over, and I know where I've got it now. "I've always had confidence in what we were doing here."
