I cannot wait to Basketball season! I will again have two good teams to watch. With the recruiting class we have coming in, combined with the upper classmen, this should be a fun year.
Keep him so we can keep winning
Let's go back to being last in the Sunbelt
I am now a women's basketball fan
It is just women's basketball

Congrats, coach. With great news like this, a new floor, and a great recruiting class coming in on top of the great season last year, I can almost guarantee that Earl K. Long will be packed opening night and, hopefully, all season long.
Congrats, coach; however, the BIG winner is the University and its fans!
Congrats and good luck..Go Cajuns...
Good news is hard to believe.
Has anyone heard anymore on the contract agreements?
DaddyCajun!!
I remember when Coach Hall was hired, Jay had asked him off the air, "You do realize what you're getting yourself into, right?"
Good to see that when coach Hall eventually does leave for greener pastures, he'll be leaving his successor with a whole hell of a lot more to work with.
Congrats, coach!
CDEB, I totally agree with you, that with a nice 4-year contract in hand and a new court(Maple) a packed house game in and game out, top 25 recruiting class just in, Coach Hall will certainly bring Louisiana's Lady Cajuns Basketball to a very impressive higher level!!! With the sucess of Football this season(crossing fingers/toes), Mens Basketball, Baseball and Softball and Lady Cajun Basketball ALL to be VERY good again, We may just need to get another Band Wagon for those Cajun fans waiting in the flanks. As Cajun Fans flock to UL sporting events the ability to pay their coaches what they are TRULEY worthe will be come a reality!! Good luck Coach Hall!!
Jump on NOW Cajun Fans and enjoy the ride!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the support. The exact question from JAY WALKER the very first time I met him (ON THE AIR) was and I Quote "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING". Jay was refering to why I would take the University of Louisiana @ Lafayette job. MY WIFE AND I SAW SOMETHING THAT HUNDREDS OF COLLEGE COACHES COULDN'T SEE. A GREAT SCHOOL, WITH A LOT OF POTENTIAL IN A BEAUTIFUL CITY. And by the way we interviewed with 3 other Universities (Lamar, Troy and Southeastern). If you listened to our pre-game interview right before the SUN BELT CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME in Denton in March Jay Walker said and I quote ''NOW I KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU WERE THINKING". IT'S BEEN FUN and WE ARE NOT FINISHED YET.

You just have no idea how much it blows my mind to see UL's women's basketball team have a winning season, let a lone a Sun Belt conference championship, wins over programs like FIU, WKU and ASU, and being one game away from post-season play.Originally Posted by headragincajun1
When I was an undergrad, my roommate was a sports med major and he was assigned to the women's basetball program. We went to lots of games, even road games. This was the Dwayne Searle era. One, two and three-win seasons, totally overmatched players, 100-point losses to Tech. We saw it all: one of the worst collegiate programs ever.
Then I was the public address announcer for two years during the Gay Nix era and covered women's basetball for the Verm. Now we're talking five-to-eight-win seasons with some slightly better players. Progress? Yes. Good? No.
So to see the current success after witnessing many, many, many ugly games, and several coaches who we thought were the next savior, it's just amazing. You guys have earned every bit of praise that has come your way.
You are soooo right! I have never seen a time where the women's basketball team was good. Even when the great Kim Perot was here, the team wasn't that good. It wasn't an embarassment, but not that good. I never thought I'd see the day where we would field a respectable (much less very good) women's bball "program". Under Coach Hall we have earned respectability and are heading toward making it a REAL "program". Coach, I was in line with Jay's first question, but you've made a believer out of me. Congrats and best wishes for a long, successful career (especially at UL!). Hope you & your family enjoy a long tenure in Lafayette!Originally Posted by CDeb
