He is part of a bright future for UL athletics and I for one say give him whatever it takes to stay. The money going towards facility upgrades are only a small piece of the puzzle...coaching is the biggest piece. Coaches like the Lotiefs, the General, and J. Kelly Hall (coach Bustle has yet to prove to me that he is in this catagory) do not come very often and when they do, you do what it takes to keep them...Boise State as an example gave their coach Hawkins a huge raise to keep him from bein grabbed up by the big boys and now they have begun facility upgrades that will keep them competitve for years to come.
Rickey Bustle IS in that category! No doubt about it!!!
I understand why he would be put into that catagory but until he proves to be a winner i cant put him in it for me. This is only my opinion and I do see the big deference sense he came to UL but for all the changes the wins still have not been put up. This year to me is a year that he has to prove himself because now it is completely the team he recruited. Don't get me wrong I am glad to have Bustle for all he has done here but I still think that much mroe needs to be done. In all other sports you can see the results on the field and court but we have yet to see it in football.
Bustle, Robe, Lee, Steff, and J.Kelly Hall keep them all, they are all winners!
Robe slipped my mind (I'll slap myself later for that one)
Besides, this a no brainer poll!!!!
Nah get rid of J kelly Hall, he is going to cost us to much to stick around. SIKE! What the hell could anyone be thinking not to keep this dude! Out of all the coaches, and this is hard to say but he has done more with less and needs to be kept at all costs!
Could not have said it better myself and as his program grows move the Ladies to CajunDome and that takes care of new floor problem
He's not just winning, but building a solid foundation that can have us competitive year in and year out. The wins will bring the casual fans in and give us a chance to bring in better players each year. This stability will help get us to the point where the WNIT is a off year.
This is a no brainer, he should stay and we should do anything it takes to keep him.
I keep reading things like "Whatever it takes."
Let's see.
Would you double his salary?
Would you triple it?
Where will you get the money to do that?
Of course we want him to stay. But this university doesn't have unlimited resources.
We'll do what we can for him. But there's only so much we can do.
