This thread has just become epic. Crazycajun & Chop smack talking burgers all the way from New Orleans. I will say this Crazy. Chop is an aficionado of dead cow on a bun. if he says this KGB at curbside is the deal, then I'm thinking road trip. This Port of Call thing is surprising though. I thought all that place did was beignets.
Just a few of the BURGERS from CURBSIDE
Hungry yet?
Those fries are to die for BTW
There is a 5 Guys burger being built on Ambassador Caffery next to the Starbucks. They do have awesome burgers and fries. It is a chain but absolutely ranks with the best burger I have ever ate. Every time I pass there I can't believe how slow the construction is. Reminds me of the renovation of Lamson Park.
Votes from tv networks dont mean much to me.
Southside was voted #1 in Lafayette in The Times.
Southside does not even make my top 10 in Lafayette.
Yes you read correctly, it does not make my top 10.
Port O call was decent, but I have had both Port O Call and Curbside.
Have you had both.
If not that makes me twice as informed.
And you may go to Curbside and like Port O Call more.
And thats fine.
Its called an opinion.
Im sure there is someone out there that thinks the BigMac is the best burger in the world.
You don't have to be a woman about it, it is your opinion, I don't value your opinion since your top 10 doesn't include southside but judice inn isn't in my top 20, which most people would think I'm crazy.
I thought Port O' Call & the Cafe du Monde both did the Beignet thing. I didn't know & will definitely check them out next time I'm in town. I have always done Buffet's or Hard Rock Cafe for burgers in New Orleans. The funny thing is when I go to New Orleans, I don't even mess with their seafood dishes. Everyone I've ever tried is crappy compared to the places around Lafayette. That is except Drago's oysters that is.
Anyhow, I'm getting a little worried on you Crazy. I never tried the Judice Inn until last year, but they are definitely a fine tasting LITTLE morsel of meat. I swear every time I think about one of their burgers, I think about the special sauce, onion, & cheese juice combination so tasty & overflowing it will just run down your hands & arms if you don't have plenty of napkins. Man I could use me some grilled onions right about now.
Thank You Amos. I have been noticing how astute your observations are. Is there anyway I could possibly bump into you on game day & celebrate this blessed revival of Cajun tradition with you sir. I would be glad to furnish any libation necessary for a toast to our future success.
