This is a similar problem I am having with some of the other suggestions I'm getting here. I don't know if I have the courage to go to La Cafe' & walk in & ignore the all you can eat fried catfish (which IMO is the best I've had in this area) for a burger. I also don't know if I can go to PJ's & bypass their awesome chicken fried steak sandwich for a burger either. You guys have made this quest much harder than I thought, although there are a lot of deliciously sounding recommendations so far.

    Southside Bakery......always gets my vote!

As long as it was freshly made -and I was hungry- I don't think I have ever had a bad hamburger.

I saw someone post PJ's in Crowley, the quality of their food has really gone down. No knock on Peter Boulet.

Frosto in Crowley has an excellent burger but, my favorite is Southside Bakery

Tiger Inn? That's the last place I thought I see mentioned in this thread. The only place where the Dr. Pepper has a hint of fried chicken flavor!

The good thing is that you can always make a return trip. You won't regret the burger at Le Cafe'.

I used to work in Crowley. Pjs grill cajun burger.
But my favorite in lafayette is the Boudin Stuffed burger at Brewskis. Boudin and pepperjack cheese stuffed in the burger.

I'll post a few I don't think have been mentioned.

    Gary's on Lamar.
-Nothing seemingly special about it, yet you find yourself coming back for another one.

    Agave
-Its a lot like the Southside burger. Good bread.

    Antlers Downtown
-I think they only sell them on the street during festival and mardi gras, but I always try to get one when I can. Very nostalgic for me.

    Carencro High Football Games
-The way a stadium burger should taste. Sodexo could take notes.

And since this is a UL thread...I think we should include Campus Copies on St. Mary. Maybe not the best burger in Lafayette, but certainly the best burger you can get on campus.

I forgot a real important contender.
That place across the street from Old Tyme Grocery.

    Great burger.

I live around the corner from it. I'm pretty sure it's out of business now. I think that's the third time in two years someone has tried to setup shop there and lose to Old Tyme.
