Through yesterday's games, the Cajuns' Adjusted RPI came in at .5477, good for a rank of #58 (still up from .5467 and a rank of #61 last week). The Cajuns regained .0006 in RPI bonus as Rice re-entered the Base RPI Top 25.

It definitely helps as it makes the UL record against the Top 50 Base RPI look good. Note that it is the Base RPI that counts here, not the Adjusted RPI. Florida Atlantic is ranked in the Top 50 Base RPI (they have no RPI bonuses) at #50. Thus, the Cajuns are 7-6 vs. the Base RPI Top 50 ... instead of 4-6.

The Base RPI Top 50 is important to the selection committee because this mostly represents teams that make up the field of 64. The record vs. Base RPI Top 25 is important for teams vying for national seeds, #1 seeds, and host regionals (their peers).
