After last Saturday's scrimmage, when Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun offense ran effectively against the defense, the offensive and defensive lines staged some memorable duels on Monday.

"We have gotten better, there is no question about that," defensive line coach Shawn Quinn said. "The offense got after us a little bit in the scrimmage this past Saturday, so we always know that we have to work to get better.

"Our young guys have done an awesome job of stepping up and coming out ready to play each day.

That's especially true with younger linemen eager to make their mark before Saturday's Cajun Bowl spring game at noon in Cajun Field.

"The younger guys have played well," Quinn said. "We have Elijah Nelson, moving a few steps inside to nose guard. He is a guy that we feel like will be able to help us out a lot in what we do.
