It is so wonderful being able to see photos of what is happening on campus. Thank you for the record of the construction that you are keeping. I like it when I see that you have a post on the construction.

Front columns of Huger Hall being installed. They come split in half and they are bonded together on site. The middle two columns have straps around them to hold it together until the adhesive sets.
A spare or broken column half. Capitols and bases are to the rear.
Finishing touches being done to the rear of Huger Hall. Scheduled to be finished around Thanksgiving.
We will see if they were able to improve on the installation of the AC lines over the installation behind Baker.

Thank you very much. Being that my house is right across the street it's really not that hard to do. I started out photgraphing on Saturdays but since they have moved to the Rose Garden area I'm thinking I will have to photograph on Sunday as i will have to sneak in and the best day to do that is when they are not working that much. At first they were working seven days a week but lately they are taking Sunday off.
Just an idea ---How about having some photo shop give a beautiful album that you can give the history to the university and the company doing the work---The price will be a huge contribution to RCAF---Top level only will get the album!!! What say you????
Once a month, I drop off a copy of all the photos (the not so good, the bad and the ugly) to Dr. Savoie, Troy Dunnam (the general superintendent) and Steve Oubre. What they do with them after that I don't know.
The general contractor knows somebody with a plane that they regularly fly to Houston. They make a swing over the campus and take some really nice aerial shots.
Huger is very close to being finished on time for Thanksgiving.
The entrance to Huger getting it's finishing touches.

They have used the parking lot behind Hamilton Hall as a storage area and there is very little material there now. In two weeks it will all be gone.
The Rose Garden construction continues to progress.
Foreground is concrete slab placed early morning of Friday 11/11/11. They are wrecking forms on this area and getting ready to place concrete in the area in the background.

First residence hall in background. They are working to place concrete on the third section probably early this coming week. The foreground is foundation prep work for the second residence hall. The white circles in the ground are the tops of compacted sand Geopiles installed by the equipment to the left of the photo.

Unreal---thanks!!!
A day late due to ISP problems.
Huger is getting very close to being finished. This is a view from Tulane Ave while standing in the service drive between Huger and Hamilton.

A view between Huger and Baker with Hamilton to the rear. It looks like it will be a very nice space.
The rear of Baker Hall. Looks like they will have room for benches and other things. There is very little material stored in the parking lot behind Hamilton Hall. They were shooting to be finished for Thanksgiving but I don't think they will make it. I give them two weeks, give or take a day or two.

A panoramic view of the Rose Garden construction. All of the concrete slab for the first hall is finished and they have started the first floor framing. They are continuing to do foundation and stair well/elevator shaft work for the second hall.
Tying rebar steel for foundation of second Rose Garden Hall. Rain expected on Tuesday (11/22) so they were working on Sunday.

OOPS. Somebody made a mistake. They had to scab on a bit of concrete to make the building fit the foundation. This is the corner closest to Randolph Hall.

I saw my neighbor yesterday afternoon and he said as soon as the residence halls are finished they will start on the Student Union renovation. This may be the longest thread in Ragin Pagin history.
