Well, we have posted these pics of the lake before, but I think they are worth re-posting.
The first one with the ice skating was from 1961, and I think the pic made it to Life magazine.
The second one is circa 1964, before the brick ledges were added, but while they still had the pathway through the lake.

Don’t think there are many crabs in this lake. Maybe a cast net might be a better option.

That was my second plan. Tryna get me some alligator gar. Sneak in under cover of night and disappear before upc shows up. Like dem Vietnamese boys did to them ducks in Girard park back in the days. 😀

It was cold enough to make ice thick enough to skate on in 1961? Darn that global warming!
