Second floor framing of North end of Taft Street Dorm. Yellow rods at the top of the stud walls are for OSHA required railings needed when decking the third floor.

Debris pile of Bancroft foundation, looks like they are removing everything down to about 4 or 5 feet below ground level. The round pieces of concrete are the tops of the piling for Bancroft. The materials in foreground are truss joists for the second floor ceiling of the Taft Street Dorm.

I was taking pictures of the site yesterday as well. I ran into one of the crew at the top of the stairs and he was saying they've been coming in and taking aerial shots of the site on a regular basis. I didn't think to ask him if they were or would be posting them somewhere online. It'd be cool to see.

The guys doing the work can't get it done without the right guys in the job shack and then the right guys in the Lemoine and Juneau corporate offices. It's a project management thing. Also, this being done with private funds, things get done much easier.

Unfortunately, the softball stadium is a different thing all together. I still say there is something going on there that does not meet the eye (I'm thinking politics or bureaucracy). I fear Al Lamson is turning over in his grave because he was a "get 'r done" type of person. Granted the final product will be very nice, but there is no reason for the work to take as long as it has.

Continued good weather allowed for significant progress since last week. Starting 3rd floor framing of Taft Street Dorm. I stand by my previous prediction of floor framing being finished by mid to late April if weather holds. D H Griffin Demolition equipment moved out on Wednesday 3/22/11.
