I think none thing that we did which is good is balance out the classes.
To start this season we had....
Gary, Daigle, Bureau, Wallace, Batiste, (5 srs.)
Brown, Perez, Farrington
Andrews, Mitchell
Thomas, Mbamalou, Lebato
We were very senior heavy. We have also managed to recruit without becoming incredibly young.
Next year's roster will be:
Perez, Brown, Farrington (Srs.)
Andrews, Mitchell, Jackson, Coleby, AMT (Jrs.)
Thomas, Mbamalou, Clark (Soph)
Payton, Smith (Fr.)
I think we need to lay off this Long kid a little bit. Say what you want about the brother, but the kid has every right to take all of his visits, and explore all of his options. If he comes here in the end, great, but if not, it's because he did what he felt was best from him. And I wish him luck with whatever decision he makes. Remember, he's a teenager making a decision that will have an effect on the rest of his life. If he needs time to make it, fine. For those of us that went through the process, I'm sure we can all understand. Jmo.

The Cajuns have other bigs on the radar after Long. Michael Lewis from Christian Life Center in Texas is not a possibility this year because he's a 2012 recruit.
Marlin is meeting with Alan-Michael Thompson and his family this weekend and told me he would sign after that. AMT hasn't taken any other visits, so I don't expect him to flip.

As Slappy mentioned, Long is going through the recruiting process. It takes longer for some prospects. Long has attracted a lot of interest given his skills and growth spurt, and that's given him more to think about. Depends on what the young man wants to do: Go to a school and be just one of the guys or sign with the Cajuns and have the chance to compete right away while getting bigger and stronger along the way close to home.
Bryant is not a 2 guard either. He cannot shot. He came in as a PG. No he cannot handle the ball well but thats where he played
I would think that Bryant is more of a combo guard. But definitely not a point. I think he played some point by necessity. However, I would imagine the rest of his career he will play off the ball.
Mbamalu can defend both guards spots. The tough thing is he's not a consistent outside shooter (41.5 percent overall, 1-of-14 from 3) or tremendous ball-handler or playmaker (44 turnovers to 15 assists). He's still a tweener, one of the reasons he wasn't highly recruited out of high school. I still believe he can be an important player for the Cajuns as a defender and rebounder, plus he can score from time to time from 15 feet and in. From mid December through late January he was one of the team's top players this past season, scoring in double figures six times.
I guess we will see in the next few weeks.
