It sure would be nice to have Don doing the games again. He is "sorely" missed.

At some point you need to stop looking in the past. Jay does a nice job. I suspect I just missed a lot of the Don Allen era since I left Lafayette in 1980 and only recently began listening because of the internet access.

Yeah, you missed about 21 years worth. I never said Jay did a bad job. In my opinion, there isn't anyone better at calling college basketball games than Don.

Hey JustRagin....you just registered this month to say that you would rather have Don over Jay!!

    Geeezzz....give me a break!!

    Well, glad you found us!!

In my mind Don Allen IS the "Voice of the Cajuns" and always will be. I agree, this is not a slam on Jay. He does a fine job. But I always hear Don's voice in my head whenever the Cajuns are playing. (And yes, that is the only voice in my head! lol)

We are not turning back to the past, so keep up the good work, Jay. Dunk you very much! Geaux Ragin' Cajuns!!!!!

I'm young and attended most Cajun events. And since I didn't want to sacrifice social status to watch the game and listen to the radio broadcast at the same time through some oversized headphones I don't remember Don Allen much. But I'm a big fan of Jay. On top of doing a great job and showing lots of excitement he's about as unbiased as a play-by-play man gets. I like hearing, "cajun fans aren't gonna like it, but that's probably the right call." Then I know for sure that when he says, "Curtis Shaw should've let that one go," it's not biased belly-aching.

DUNK YOU VERY MUCH! (Jay Walker's "Woah Nelly")

Don Allen was sarcastic and Jay Walker is condescending. Bring back RON GOMEZ

WHY ARE WE EVEN HAVING THIS CONVERSATION?

Don't get me wrong, I like Jay.

But if I were king of the world, I would want Don calling the UL games.

I wondered when that name would come up. I recall Ron calling games from my time in Lafayette. Only heard Don on a few occaisions. I don't necessarily want a "homer" on the radio; but I do like Jay's enthusiasm too.
