Georgia and Alabama are certain locks, but if LSU beats Tennessee two out of three this weekend, I believe they will host.

Anything can happen. There's still a lot of games to be played. Two weeks ago I I didn't even think LSU would make a regional. _
Let them host....its a quick drive for us Cajuns and a guaranteed win. Cajuns don't lose in Refineryville. UL OWNS BR!!!!

You don't want a part of us right now, Hawk! We are so good we beat Alabama 2 - 0 without even getting a hit. lol.

That is impressive....but will it help during regionals?

I'm still hoping UL gets the regional. It would be a shorter drive for me and I would love to see Yvette play in Lafayette for her last regional. (Before someone chimes in, I said last REGIONAL, then play the Super Regional in Baton Rouge).

It could happen. Remember when LSU was number 3 in the country (2004 maybe) and the NCAA sent them to Lafayette?

I know we beat Alabama earlier in the season, but LSU did just sweep Alabama. 2-1 (14 innings), 3-1 (10 innings) and 2-0. So in all fairness. I can see why they are back up there in the rankings. But they play #6 Tennessee this upcoming weekend.

    Back to something more interesting...

I'll be more impressed if they ever play a PAC-10 school and maybe even beat 1. Until then, I don't consider an sec team beating an sec team a big victory on their part.

UL is at an "APEX" this year at talent I think.. They will get healthy soon, barring no further injuries and cruise to the college world series... It's past time!........

We are only losing 1 player for next year in Gabby Bridges. Now that is one heck of a player to lose, but everyone else will be 1 year older and 1 year more experienced, Brignac will have another year post surgery, and some new recruits coming in.

No regional in Lafayette --- sorry. The stadium is not finished, nor will it be in time for the regional. Our best travel scenario would be LSU. We'll call the chairman of the D1 softball committee and push for that. (He's our AD)

Also, it would not be a good ending to YG's career to play here. One always likes to go out winning and being knocked out of the tourney where she won her first game would be a downer at best.

I thought that the stadium could host a regional even if the stadium is not completely finished? What has changed?

The stadium will not stop UL from bidding on a regional. Their RPI might at this point. The stadium is functional at this point and has the seating to meet the requirements. The press box would be an obstacle for the committee. But again, UL's RPI is a larger concern at this point.

Yes, but things just got a little better.
