Shooting killed our near upset of NC State last year...this time around we have to shoot like we did durign the conference tourny. I truely believe we can beat anyone in our bracket when we play out best game.
Absent a deep inside presence...I like our chances!
Taquan Dean meet Orien Green. He will become your daddy come Friday!
You must be kidding, right? Dean is not your typical point guard, he is more of a shooting guard. Garcia and our postman Ellis Myles are the teams "playmakers". Both are excellent passers and get our main shooters Dean, Garcia, Palacios and Jenkins open looks. Garcia's NBA comparison is to Reggie Miller in that he is a lanky 6'8 shooter/playmaker. If he gets hot, look out, he will pull it from anywhere on the court regardless of the defensive pressure. He also has led us in block shots and has a very good defensive presence. We bring Jenkins off the bench to relieve Dean at PG, he is a great defender and a 40% 3 point shooter. Wade is a freshmen wing player we bring off the bench who has had Sportscenter top 10 dunks this year (I personally think he got a bit caught up in it, he missed quite a few while trying to be too flashy IMHO). Our big energy guy off the bench is Otis George, a very athletic 6-9 inside presence, but he is a big question mark due to the flu and a season long battle w/ a stress fracture in his foot. His presence is a huge boost to our team, so I hope he can play.Originally posted by campo118
