The trip won't be as long and the competition not as heralded, but after its last two games the University of Louisiana baseball team better be focused on this weekend's Metrodome Classic.

The Ragin' Cajuns (14-2), on a two-game losing streak after winning a school-record 14 in a row to open the season, will join with Harvard, St. John's and host Minnesota in a four-team round-robin tournament held at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome.

The Cajuns will open tournament play today at 1 p.m. against Harvard, which opens its season today, and will follow that with a 6:30 p.m. Saturday contest with host Minnesota (1-5) and a Sunday 10:30 a.m. contest with St. John's (6-4).

That game was moved up 30 minutes this week from an originally-scheduled 11 a.m. start.

In fact, the tournament itself has been in a state of flux. Harvard wasn't added to the field until four weeks ago, and originally the Cajuns were to face St. John's twice in what became a three-team event when another team dropped out in the fall.

UL has already faced St. John's this year, with the Red Storm taking part in the UL Invitational in mid-February, and took a 7-2 win. The Cajuns won that tournament title, and in fact have won championships in all three tournaments they've played in this year.
