How are they in a better geographical location?

Are you refering to the bus/fly milage restrictions? If so, who are the possible regional teams that can go to BR but would be prohibited from coming to La. ?

This is not college football. Style points don't play that big of a factor.

I agree with that. My comment had nothing to do with style points, but more to do with the fact that we struggled to score runs. I was hoping this didn't continue, cause if it did, we could lose several games...and THAT would lower our RPI enough to take us out of contention.

I'll conclude by saying i don't think it will continue.

Because until it's finished, it's not suitable for hosting a regional.
I have read the 2011 NCAA document concerning hosting of a softball regional. Appendix C covers minimum requirements for facilities. I see nothing that would present a problem. The document actually makes reference numerous times to the use of tents, tarps, port-o-lets, and RV's to accomodate tournament functions. There is nothing that we could not easily overcome.

Turbine, I think he means in terms of RPI, LSU is in a better position as of now to host. That is true. LSU has won 7 in a row including taking two out of three against Kentucky - who leads the SEC East.

These next two weekends will determine a lot IMO. LSU plays #1 Alabama this weekend and #9 Tennessee next weekend. LSU's RPI will remain high because of this, but LSU will need to go 3 - 3 in those two series to still have a chance to host.

A couple of weeks ago, I thought LSU's chances of hosting was out of the question, but they have been playing a whole lot better, especially the two pitchers. Again, if LSU doesn't go 3 - 3 in these two series, I think UL will host. Unless of course, UL goes through a slump, which they can't afford to happen.

LSU will not beat Bama, not enough pitching to hold off Bama's bats. It will be tough to beat Tennessee they are rolling right now. But hey we'll see

LSU's pitching has been very good lately. During the 7 game winning streak, They have allowed only 3 runs total.

LSU is tied 1-1 with Bama in the 13th. We need Bama to win these games and not give LSU any edge over us. The good thing is, win or lose Mack is over 200 pitches in that game and probably won't go tomorrow. Bama will light up their other pitchers

LSU wins 2 - 1 in 14 innings. Mack won't go tomorrow, but Fico has also been pretty good during this streak.

It's still a long season. This series won't determine a regional host.

I'm sure this win will give them more confidence. Should be an interesting weekend now

LSU up 1-0 on Alabama in the 5th of game 2

I sure didn't see this coming, if LSU keeps playing like this the Cajuns might be traveling for sure come May

on another note ULM just scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 7th to beat FIU 8-7
