Thread: Softball vs. FIU

    Default Softball vs. FIU

Cajuns struggle with the bats a bit but take game three 2-1 to win the series. Nice work ladies.

Four runs in two games, though. At the level this program is at and wishes to stay at, that is not good.

Too many more serieses like that...and we will not be in a position to host anything.

If the Cajuns go 17-3 in the next 20 and win every game by a 2-1 margin, that won't affect whether they host a regional one bit.

This is not college football. Style points don't play that big of a factor.

We'll be fine. They're going to have to get back in a groove after 9 days off. I think we can finish out the regular season with only 2 maybe 3 losses here and there (maybe USA, maybe FAU)

If we go through the conference tournament and hit 50 wins I'd have to say they wouldn't send us road tripping as a 50 win team

Provided there's a stadium suitable for the Cajuns to host a regional.

If your concern is hosting a regional, you needn't worry about how the victories come, nor even how many. There are a lot more factors that will be taken into consideration before those things.

You may be in for a surprise. Geography plays a large part in who gets to host. Believe it or not, right now, LSU is ahead of us in the race to host. Now, I believe that they will play their way out of that spot, but we need to work at moving up to fill that spot.

    There is. It's Lamson Park.

Had the pleasure(tee hee) grins grins of sitting near Bil this evening.

Not much timely hitting tonight with runners in scoring position.

So, if you're an NCAA committee member, you'd honestly think Lamson Park was suitable for hosting, in its current state.

Because until it's finished, it's not suitable for hosting a regional.

A committee member has already seen the park and has deemed it worthy to host a regional. Keep in mind, you are looking for the frills, they are looking for the basics and the basics more than meet the criteria for hosting. And the facility, as it is now, is in better shape than almost every facility in Texas, far better than any in Mississippi, better than all but maybe one in Alabama and one or two in Georgia, and, of course, LSU's. And those are the states that have the teams with which we will be competing to host.

I think you could host if the bathrooms and pressbox is completed.
