Not totally official until he signs, but he is firm with his pledge. Earliest he can sign is April 13. The NCAA's spring signing period is April 13-May 18.

Thompson is such a great athlete that he might even try to compete in track and field for the Cajuns as long as it doesn't interfere with basketball.

Brunswick CC coach Walter Shaw said that Thompson was a 6-11 high-jumper in high school. Also a stud in long and triple jumps.

Thompson was also named an honorable mention All-American after his sophomore season. News came out recently.

It could be that they anticipate someone leaving the program, but I don't expect any such news until after the semester is over, if at all. They are looking at another high school forward as well, should hear something on him as well as Long. But I wouldn't hold my breathe on Long, he hasn't taken an official visit yet to UL.
