One of the main benefits for Long in signing with the Cajuns would be playing close to home as well as the chance of getting immediate minutes.
Many of the other programs that are recruiting him believe that he needs more seasoning to play at that level but love his potential. If he goes to a school better than the Cajuns or Tulane, he could find himself redshirting as a freshman.
It's a tough call. I've been told he's visiting Tulane this weekend and has no other visits set yet.
I mentioned it in another thread, but it might have been missed by some. Long is on the way to New Orleans for his official visit to Tulane this weekend.
I think that you also forget we have Andrews as a 6'2 PG that Thompson will share time with. Then you have Bryant also so another PG is not really necessary as thats two JR and a Sophomore. We will hame Thompson at the 2 and Brown/thomas at the 3 along with the freshman from Jackson.
Haven't forgot, was just speaking about this year's signees. Andrews will be improved and he will play along with Jackson. Competition makes everyone better. This is why Payton would be a redshirt, we don't need him this year. Then you bring him along slowly behind Andrews and Jackson. I never said Thompson is a point, I did say at times this season he will be on the court with Jackson and Brown. Should have added Andrews in as well. Bryant is not a pure point, not a good enough ball handler. He is more of a 2 guard, but needs time to develop his offensive game.
Ran across this today. Two of ATM's teammates at Brunswick Community College - Devon Atkinson (Morehead State) and Mike Coger (Delaware State) - have also committed to D1 programs.
A couple other BCC players - Chris Smith and Latrell Royster - are also expected to play at the D1 level.
Rutgers signed Tyree Graham from BCC last season.
Where is Perry now?
