Thread: Cajuns win over Owls keeps streak alive

  1. Default Cajuns win over Owls keeps streak alive

UL baseball coach Tony Robichaux gave nationally ranked Rice credit. The Owls got 18 runners on base in Tuesday's non-conference game at Reckling Park in Houston. The Ragin' Cajuns, though, made sure none of those runners came home. Jordan Nicholson, Chase ...

Not sure what the all time record for a 9 inning game is.......18 base runners and not scoring a single run has to be near top. Amazing stat IMO

Not even a stat I had ever heard of or contimplated.

    Amazing.

An average of 2 left on base every inning, when you can't ever have more than 3 is astounding.

The record in the majors is 20 total left on base. But that was a 7 to 13 game. There are a bunch tied at 18 but no way to tell if any where shutouts. Now college baseball, harder to find that stat I would presume.

Edit: On that same page at the bottom it reads that the MLB game with the most left on base in a nine inning shutout is 16.

Digging for the college baseball most left on base in a shutout, I came across a good trivia question. 2 cool points and a thumbs up to anyone who can get this right. Who was the first player to be selected from UL(USL, SLI, SLII) in the MLB Amatuer Baseball Draft? Only one hint....it was from 1970.

This is a unique stat, the alter ego of a no hitter.

It's a playing with fire stat, one that going into a game no team would want to touch or toy with.

It is also an exit game stat that no team would ever dream of relinquishing.

It is a stat the players will be proud of the rest of the ret of their lives.
