Hoover is in Birmingham, hardly a hard place to find, or a cultural wasteland, Midland is as big or bigger than Lafayette, and culturally similar.

Naming a town that you have to get lost to find & then saying they are a better football town than Lafayette, because the only entertainment they have for a hundred mile radius on Friday night is eating at the local catfish house or going to the local High school game, is a little bit slanted comparison. Couldn't you agree with that? How about comparing apples to apples, like any major or semi major metropolitan area in the country.

This is completely off point of the main post.

I would love for you to be right but I'm not betting on it, at least not right now. Unfortunately, we have to compete with a lot of factors to get butts in the seats and Cajunfan is right, if the wins don't come, you can forget the big crowds even in Hud's first season. _

Ok. it's time for somebody/bodies to pony up. I'm sure someone knows what the average home attendance was last year. I'll wager with anyone who wants to that Hud averages at least 5k per home game more than Bustle did. Hell, make that 6k more. $100 to RCAF & $100 to Ragin Pagin by the loser.

Thanks for the 411. While I would agree that Birmingham is not a hard place to find, I disagree that it is not a cultural wasteland. Unless you are the curator of the John Henry iron ore museum.

Midland, TX? And if so, culturally similar?

By the way, per the 2010 census, Midland, TX is about 9,000 persons smaller than Lafayette.

Hell, if you use a Jerry Baldwin season for comparison the spring game tailgate and attendance exceeded anything the Rev had in-season.
