To add to all of this, there is a huge following for the Saints in Lafayette as well as large followings for the Cowboys & other NFL teams. The goal should be & to gather up all those periferal fans that don't necessarily have a strong connection with a college team that would love to come out & watch a physical hard playing group that will scratch the eyeballs out of whoever they play. This along with a coaching staff that demands 100% execution on every play will get people excited about the Cajuns. The mere fact that you had such a huge turnout for year one of the spring game should be proof of that.
The sky is the limit. It won't happen over night, but folks will be surprised at the staying power of these people, because they understand that this staff is not only working harder, but working smarter to get this thing done right & big time like it's never been done before.
Z,
You know what was amazing about the Spring Game... the Brick and I couldn't find you guys in the crowd yesterday. That would never have been possible in past Spring Games!

We've had plenty of opportunities in the past to show up and support this program on Saturday night with a great crowd and it didn't happen. I would love for you to be right but I'm not betting on it, at least not right now. Unfortunately, we have to compete with a lot of factors to get butts in the seats and Cajunfan is right, if the wins don't come, you can forget the big crowds even in Hud's first season.
They had a hand held clicker to count attendance just like baseball coaches use for pitch counts. You may not have noticed that, but they were keeping track of everyone as they walked in.

you know this might not produce wins but I loved the enthusiasm from the start of practice till the end. It wasn't like they were just going through the motions, it was as if they really wanted to be there. I kinda of sense a swagger in the team and that is something I haven't noticed since probably the 05' season.
Did anybody get to see John -Boy and the crew from Oxford--I searched around but couldn't fine them---Talked to the 3 St. Augies that are coming---The Gridiron Alumni did their thing with a great "B J LANDRY" golf tourn, Auction, Friday nite social, Tailgaiting with boiled shrimp and great heavy meat jambalaya, and cooking for the team's enjoyment post game!!!! We are getting everybody aboard!!!
Z - Great visiting with you yesterday.
Turns out I love tailgating in April, and I sunburn just as easily!

hate that I had to miss it, but there were three very good reasons
1. prom, couldnt ask my boys to miss. they earned it
2. and 3. have to do with making sure certain people get to attend the visit when we all come down. trust me, you want these people down there
so while my boys were getting all handsome for prom night, i chose not to attend any spring football game. If i couldnt be with you guys, just didnt feel right. instead i went and watched Tennessee and Ole Miss play softball. Tennessee scored 27 runs in the series to Ole Miss's 4. Tennessee gonna be tough to beat if they make it to Oklahoma City. Only weakness i saw if any was they have two sophomore pitchers and one freshman. But i tell you this, that is one very nice and very beautiful group of ladies. My daughter was trained to pitch by UT and they treated her like she was one of the girls. Our next softball trip is to Louisiana though. She wants to come watch the Cajuns play
