I am so happy for Buddy G.
After his first start -I admit- I was worried he might let it get to him.

How many innings did Glass pitch? How many hits did he give up? Based on what you guys said he had a very strong performance compared to his first outing. Didn't we have another freshman behind the plate?
Jonathan Lucroy, equally impressive.Originally posted by cajun4ever

He threw out a runner at 2nd who had a huge jump on him.
Six. Gave up one run and I don't think it was earned (but not sure).Originally posted by cajun4ever

Update: This morning's Advertiser mentioned he pitched eight innings, but I am not sure that's right. Gave up only three hits.
Can anyone provide confirmation?
i heard at least the first "throw um out" .. not sure, at all, if there were two (?)Originally posted by Turbine

was listening when driving to work. i think i heard buddy did 5 straight balls.. tony came out to the mound either after the first 4, or on the fifth..
as i read it went well for him shortly after that.. i at times heard the scores during some of the innings.. i am happy for buddy, ( what a great name.. i would imagine many dad's call their male nugs "buddy" many times.. i know i do.. )
i am also glad for tony as well.. in that tony obviously will repeat what he said, if need be next time .... (what he said would be nice to know.. someone remember to ask szfec on friday if not known by then) think it's the same thing he has told younger pitchers before?
hey buddy.. .. now "do it again" .. well of course (grins)
buddy's battery mate, jean lecrow, ( i know but his name has way too many letters.. "Jonathan Lucroy".. thought to do the typical "jl" for nickname .. but i would pro-nounce that as "jail" probably )
i like the french slant.. how is "Jonathan Lucroy".. spelled En français?
hence, i'm guessing its jean lecrow's his first time in hawaii also (smiles) .. not sure if it has happened before.. i think i heard they played together in the summer's .. although... how neat for jonathan to help his com-padre by throwing out the guy buddy walked trying to steal real soon after those first 5 balls.. neat things happened tonight.. and yes.. to top it off.. thaddeus also pitched..
ps. what's this i hear? .. sport also was asked to be "outta here" yesterday? (plenty of smiles tonight when recalled by some tonight)
pss. he said he would.. he did.. coach szefc called in from hawaii for his normal friday am gig.. his brother matt, he said, was also on the islands.. "took vacation time".. last year i learned matt worked for espn in some capacity, in baseball.. anyone know if he still does?.. if not don't bother.. i'll hope to ask john next friday.. got the impression team was getting close to being homesick..
anyone going to the football scrimage? .. starts at 12:35.. legends opens at 12.. wondering if worth doing so early just yet?
although it is coming.. saturday mornings in the water tower district.. the place to see and be seen.. might open as early as 8.. may make it a "private club" (grins)
What is impressive is that this win was with two freshnen starting.....Buddy Glass pitching, and Jonathon, "Jonk', Lucroy catching. Thinking about the future for the Cajuns. Add this to the mix.Jonk has a cousin, Jeremy Lucroy, who will be attending and playing ball for the Cajuns. Jeremy is a pitcher, whose fastball has been timed in the low 90's. I would say that the future pitching and catching for the Cajuns does look bright.
Went by there yesterday....not too early. Will likely go by again today after Legends' stopover.Originally posted by snote

By the way, Jeremy Lucroy threw a 5 inning, CG no-hitter last night.
What does CG stand for?
CG means complete game
Thanks for educating me, J-Town. For the life of me I could not figure it out. I thought of many things, even Coral Gables (you know FL). So now I know and can speak/write like an expert. :>)))
