kinda makes me laugh talking about two sports. Larry Pettis wanted to drop his 40 times so he joined the track team. The have him throwing the Shot Put and the discus. I am the official scorer for the Softball team and we had a game the same time as a track meet. Larry comes up in the press box and i asked him how did it go. he told me how far he threw it. Coach Johnny Hill the head football coach and Athletic Director said, How was your form? Larry said, I dont know, I just picked it up and threw the crap out of it. Thats how he rebounds to, he see's the ball and knocks the crap out of folks to get it

I think Donovan McNabb did it at Syracuse, but he was on the end of the bench. You have to be a pretty special athlete to play both in the same year.

Especially if the Cajuns ever start bowling, it will be tough to get going on the court. _
To get a guy like this it's definitely worth letting him try. He has to be a special athelete. I mean Northside went deep into the playoffs in both sports. Without having seen this kid play, just looking at his numbers, I have to think he is special. What happened to Northside anyway? Did they go pass happy all of a sudden?

This is funny. Did he put it or did he just lob it like a grenade or a cabbage ball.

To play one sport, any sport, at the NCAA d1 level requires a minimum of 20 hours per week, year round. No time for two.

I have to disagree. There have been a few examples given here, and not that I want to bring them up, but LSU has had a couple of guys that were very successful in both football and baseball recently.

And the majority of the "year round" stuff is strength and conditioning, which, at most places, has the same coach(es) running those programs. Difficult? Yes. Impossible? Nope.

I have heard the downside of this is it doesnt allow the athlete to use a offseason to mature and get bigger because they are too busy worrying about the other sport.

So the question is would you rather have two mediocre atheletes or one great athelete who can step on a football field or a basketball court & be one of the best players from day one? The idea that a great enough athelete has to be coached up to be good is.... well....

The guy is 6-5 for Jesus' sake. How big does he need to get? He's already playing all sports & is obviously excelling if he's being recruited in basketball & track. I just don't buy that he can't play mor than one sport.
