Thread: Orgeron's Three Hits Fuel Cajuns' Win

  1. Default Orgeron's Three Hits Fuel Cajuns' Win

The 19th ranked Ragin' Cajuns clinched a three-game series sweep of Sun Belt foe Troy with a 9-1 win at Lamson Park on Sunday thanks to three extra base hits from Christi Orgeron.

Orgeron is on fire at the plate right now. Real tought on an opposing pitcher to face Bridges then have to face Orgeron. Bridges may see more pitches to hit since walking her only puts a runner on base for the sizzling Bergeron.

    Softball
    Louisiana 5-1 27-5
    South Alabama 5-1 24-6
    FIU 5-1 17-15
    ULM 6-3 19-13
    Florida Atlantic 2-1 18-16
    Middle Tennessee 3-6 9-19
    North Texas 2-7 14-17
    Troy 1-5 19-15
    Western Kentucky 1-5 18-13

Cajuns sweep, USA doesn't play, FIU takes 2 out of 3 @ UNT, Monroe sweeps Middle, FAU takes 2 of 3 @ Western. Middle hosts a midweek series with FAU, Tuesday & Wednesday.
The race is on. Our next two series are against the two teams with which we are currently tied for first. What we do in those two series will, of course, make a large determination of what we will do in the conference, mainly because, statistically, these appear to be the main competition for us for the championship. I see it as a greater challenge. We need to show dominance in the league as part of our resume-building to host a regional. With Christina coming back for either series and, hopefully, Taryn soon to follow, we could do some real damage the rest of the way.

Shelby Rogers is doing great ! Brianna Cherry stepped up BIG time. Defense is playing well.

Tank...as you said, I think its pretty hard to find holes or weak parts of our team right now. Veterans stepping up...younger players coming up big to help replace injuries. They were fun to watch this weekend.
