The guy with the camera noticed you.

Although I must admit there were some rather glaring deficiencies in his picture taking abilities

  2. Default Facility improvement continues

The University of Louisiana first moved its football games to Cajun Field for the 1971 season, paralleling the completion of the school's athletic complex and signalling a new day for Ragin' Cajun athletics.

In the 34 years since that move, the look of the complex has undergone several changes, including the Cajundome in time for the 1985-86 basketball season (and the more recent convention center) across Cajundome Boulevard from Cajun Field as well as Ragin' Cajun Softball Park, improvements at Moore Field in baseball and at Cajun Courts in tennis.

The addition of Bourgeois Hall for Health and Physical Education is another step taken during the last 30 years, and at the end of the 2005 football season ground will be broken on the multi-million dollar indoor practice facility adjacent to softball.

But little has been done to provide a modern look to the five entrances to the complex, and Gerald Hebert will address changing that in the near future.

Hebert, UL's coordinator of athletic development, has proposed attractive, brick gates at the five entrances in order to give visitors an upscale impression upon arrival.

"We're close to making some major changes," said Hebert, who is in the middle of weekend-long Ragin' Cajun Volunteer Days at the complex. "We're washing, painting, weeding and throwing things away this weekend, and that's all part of the plan.

"We're cleaning up areas people never thought of, and that's all part of giving the place a classy, professional look."

Ragin' Cajuns Re: V5 Fans Giving Back to UL

The picture above is that of two caring students and one future student. UL can count on them being lifelong supporters. Good foundation for attendance, support and the next cleanup.

    Thanks for the help.

The Vermilion Red wall will prove intimidating for visiting teams into Cajun Field. Never before has anyone, Cajun fan or foe has seen the Vermilion Swamp.

Haven't been here a couple days, but I put the pepper decal on the picture of the guys riding in the mule at the beginning of this post. Me and another guy put the "Ragin' Cajuns" on the front of the UL transit buses when I worked there. I had an extra pepper, and voila!!!!! I thought it looked cool!

How about some t-shirts next year for the volunteers. Nothing special. Just something they can wear with pride. We discussed some lines.

    Cajun Pride is Back! Front

I painted Cajun Field for this shirt! Back

That sounds like a great idea, and a company could do this and use it as advertising; i.e., Louisiana Hot Stuff. Could do exactly what you recommended ( or some similar idea ) and have their logo/company name on the shirt as well. Just a thought.
