Thread: Cherry's first homer, Brignac's one-hit shutout help Lady Cajuns sweep Troy

  1. Default Cherry's first homer, Brignac's one-hit shutout help Lady Cajuns sweep Troy

On Saturday at Alfred and Helen Lamson Park, the UL Ragin' Cajun softball team made the most of it. The Cajuns exploded for five runs in the sixth inning of game one to rally for a 5-2 win and pitcher Ashley Brignac rode that momentum into the second game ...

Lovely day at Lamson. The ladies just teased the Trojans in that first game, then came back to show who had the premier program.

Oh...and that Brignac girl can pitch.

Other teams crack me up when they do their chants and noise from the visitor's dugout. I see no point in it, but I guess visiting teams need to burn off nervous energy while playing a premier team.

Just a hint the little girl who threw out the first pitch of the second game is mine. I was the fat guy standing behind her. We had a blast cooking for the girls and there parents yesterday. Now I might have to hire a pitching coach lol.

That whole bunch sure knows how to cry. Every one of the coaches and the support group in the stands. Whew. I saw you and Mr. T. Didn't get a chance to get up there. Nice game today too.

Are we finished with the stadium yet? LOL.

Hey Beau! Yeah that group was attached to that Luquette chick that played third for Troy. Best story I heard all weekend was about Brignac always wanting to pitch around Luquette every time they faced each other in high school and select ball. Whenever Brig had to pitch to her she'd always jack it out of the park.... It was so bad that when she(Luquette) came here on a recruiting visit Brignac had her blackballed and she ended up at Troy. Thanks goodness I had my 2 bags of roasted peanuts cause those folks were making me queasy!!!!

    Now about that stadium????

Looks like she was 1-5 vs Brig this weekend, damn good thing she went to Troy. Looks like we know who got the better player. Luquette is batting .257 with 1 HR and 8 RBI's on the season, while Brig is tearing it up on the mound.

Luquette also has a .925 Fielding % with 8 errors on the season, that is good enough for 2nd on her team in E's.

Oh and finally we are 27-5 and 5-1 on the season, while Troy is 19-15 and 1-5 on the season. I am so glad Luquette made a wise decision and went to Troy.
