Build it and they will come.
Years after receiving minimal fan support, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team officially became a program this season.
Not because the Cajuns secured only the third winning season in school history, or because they posted the second 20-win season in school history or because they won the school's first Sun Belt Western Division Championship.
But moreso because now they have a fan base.
Back on Jan. 11, I challenged Cajun supporters to stop making excuses for why they weren't attending games and instead get behind this team.
And this past week they did just that.
During the biggest week in the program's history, in which the Cajuns were set to try and clinch at least a share of the West Division title, the fans showed up in support of the team and exemplified what being a true Louisiana Ragin' Cajun fan really means.
